Son Salas is an old farmhouse set within 50 hectares of land, offering peace and tranquility, whilst only a 5 minute drive to the nearby market town of Soller, the beach and the marina.

Finca Son Salas
We welcome you to Son Salas where we have lived for many wonderful years and hope you will have an equally wonderful stay.
The origin of the house was as a working farm. The olive press, now the dining room, still contains the large stone pieces that served as the various elements of the pressing system and oil storage vats. The date on the pillar of the oil press is 1681. While the original machinery is now part of the fabric of the house we still pick and distill our own oil which you can sample during your stay.
The house was built around the authentic courtyard with the well in the middle. This was very much the heart of the house and still provides a cosy place to eat during the evening.
The main house is ideal for 10 people. Son Salas has 6 double bedrooms (therefore theoretically being able to sleep 12) however we feel that the house works better for a slightly smaller group. All 6 bedrooms are usable which means your party could utilise two rooms as singles if desired.
There are also two additional auxiliary apartments that are wonderful for nannies, extra cooks, mothers-in-law etc. These apartments can be rented at an additional cost if desired and can sleep up to another 5 people in 3 double bedrooms.
Children are welcome at Son Salas and childrens cots, beds and high chairs are available if needed.
As Son Salas is a large finca we have included the plans of the house to help you visualise the amount of space we have.
We have also included a screenshow of some of the photos in a larger format to help you see the space offered.

The Kitchen
The original kitchen is fun for family eating and is normally used as the breakfast kitchen. It provides a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and is also ideal to prepare a snack to eat in the central courtyard or one of the many terraces.
There is a second, larger and newly installed kitchen in what was originally the oil vat area which is ideal for preparing the main meal or as the area for the chef to work. Son Salas includes the use of a breakfast and lunch chef during your stay.
There is a washing machine and dryer in the laundry area for your use.

The Formal Dining Area
It is difficult to capture the true scale of the old olive press which is now the formal dining room at Son Salas. The room is on two levels and contains the original workings of the press, but also on the upper level is a wonderful large table which seats 10 comfortably and is perfect for parties. The room also has an open fireplace for autumn evenings.

The Office and Music Area
There is a computer with an ADSL line and 24 hour internet connection. There are also ADSL sockets in each bedroom and WIFI is provided. Phones and a fax machine are available for your use (a bill will be made out to you when you depart for this service - the internet is provided at no charge). The minstrels gallery doubles as the office and the music room with its mini grand piano.
The bar areas within the house have been left stocked with the basics for your use. There is also an ice machine.

The Home Cinema and Games Room
There is a large room just as you enter the courtyard with a pool table and a home cinema system with a selection of DVD's.

Main Sitting Rooms
In the main sitting room there is a TV, CD, VHS, DVD and Satellite system.
The second living area provides a relaxing place to read a book or maybe contemplate your next days activities while at Son Salas.

The Bedrooms
The main bedrooms all have double matrimonial four poster beds and each has its own bathroom. Each bedroom has a small safe box which you can use for passports and jewelry. The bedrooms have been equipped with screens for mosquitos. All bedrooms have air conditioning in the sleeping areas (this is chargable seperately).
Towels are supplied in all the bathrooms. Separate towels are supplied for pool and beach use.
We have enclosed details of three of the bedrooms at Son Salas for you to see but all have been decorated in similar style and have classic furnishings.

Outdoor Areas
The outdoor, fully equipped kitchen pavilion is ideal for barbeques and outdoor eating. It has its own cooker, dishwasher, crockery, cutlery and everything you would want from your main kitchen area, plus it is situated above the pool and has amazing views across the valley and to the Mountains.
The outside terraces and courtyard also have tables for dining purposes, therefore you can choose the location of your meal depending on your mood !
The pool 6.5 metres by 16 metres and is a saline pool which is safer for the skin. The maximum depth is 2.25 metres
Loungers are provided around the terraces and gardens for your relaxation.
The table tennis area and childrens swings are just above the front area of the house.
The tennis court is situated in the most amazing of settings, a short walk from Son Salas, and it has its own casita with fridge and shower room. We supply rackets and balls and hope that you will replace any lost items for the next person. Coaching can be arranged with a qualified PTR coach who lives in Soller. The Apartments
Apartment 1 is accessible from within the main house and has 2 double bedrooms, a shower room, a kitchenette and a dining/sitting room. We prefer to let out this apartment to a maximum of 3 people. It is a lovely part of Son Salas which would be ideal for staff who you would like to bring with you or maybe a part of your family who would like some privacy while still having all the facilities at their fingertips.

Apartment 2 is a slightly apart from the main house, has seperate access and has a beautiful terrace which leads to the pool and looks out over the mountains. This apartment has a large double bedroom with french doors, a very large living, dining and kitchen area which is open plan, and a lovely modern bathroom.
